Posting Results

 

It is the responsibility of the coach of the home team to post results no later than 48 hours after the game.

For a grade/gender, the google sheet is sorted by League, Scored, Date, Time, and Venue.    Scored games appeared at the end of a list for a league.

 

The Status for a game is P=Played, R=Needs Resched, X=Cancel, F=Forfeit, RO=Rainout, U=Upd Score.  A Status is required unless you are keying the score for the first time when the status is P=Played and assumed to be P.

 

For a Forfeit, use a status of F.  Indicate the Winner by Forfeit with a W and the Loser by Forfeit with a L.

 

For special circumstances, use these columns at the end of a row:

If you want to update a score, update the information at the end of the league lst.

 

The Previous Google Sheet will be available as will be a log of scores throughout the season.

 

Rain-outs, Forfeits, Cancellations, and Re-Schedules

 

We want to make sure that we do not waste resources or time due to bad communication for game rainouts, cancellations, forfeits, and re-schedules.  Following are the procedures for cross-district games.  Please follow them to reduce confusion.

 

If a field is closed due to rain and noted on the district “rain out system”, then games scheduled in that time period will be scored as Wth Canc on the web site meaning the game can be re-scheduled.  It is the responsibility of the home team to re-schedule the game negotiating a solution with the opposing coach and field manager for the game.  The precedence of fields to be used for the re-schedule is:

              

  Original Field

               Another Field in the District

               Any Field

 

The re-schedule must be emailed to Pat Moore (pmoore1015@sbcglobal.net) .  The subject line needs to be “Re-Schedule for M/D/Y” where “M/D/Y” is the original date for the game.  This should be done by the coach for the home team.  The email should include the league, two teams along with the field, date, and time for the re-schedule.   The email should include the opposing coach and field manager who should confirm receipt by doing a reply all.  No schedule change is made until the confirmation emails are seen from the two collaborators not sending the email.

 

If a game is rained out, and was not noted in the rain-out system it should be scored as a rain-out on the google spread sheet.  The same re-schedule procedures should be followed.

 

If a game is being canceled, one of the head coaches or the field manager needs to email Pat Moore (pmoore1015@sbcglobal.net).  The subject line needs to be “Cancellation for M/D/Y” where “M/D/Y” is the original date of the game.  All three of the collaborators (coaches and field manager) should be included on the email.  The league, two teams along with the field, date, and time for the cancelled game should appear in the body of the email.  The team cancelling the game should be documented.  The game will be scored as a forfeit for the team canceling the game until the game is re-scheduled.  The game is eligible to be re-scheduled but no re-schedule is guaranteed.  Cancellation of a game must occur 72 hrs prior to the scheduled date of the game.  Otherwise the game is scored as a forfeit with no opportunity to re-schedule.  Receipt of the email canceling the game must be confirmed by the head coaches and field managers not receiving the email by doing a reply all.  A cancellation can be done before the re-schedule is worked out.

 

If a game is being forfeited, the game should be marked as a forfeit and not scored as 7-0.  The team forfeiting the game needs to be indicated.  

 

There is a $50 fine for forfeits.  (This is a game not cancelled 72 hours before the scheduled date of the game.)

 

If there is disagreement on the outcome of a game, the field manager determines the outcome.  The district baseball/softball chairman will be included on the email from Pat Moore asking a resolution to the disagreement.  The district baseball/softball chairman will insure the email is answered.

 

Typically, the web site will be updated daily early in the AM with the latest results and schedule.
